Sales Meetings

Are sales meetings essential for real estate office's? If so, how often do you feel brokers/managers should conduct real estate sales meetings and how long should a typical sales meeting last?

I have a passion for studying and researching sales meetings for the real estate office, and would love to hear what others have to say about this topic.

I have a staff of 20 full time professional agents and we have less and less staff meetings every year for the past few years. Through the use of technology, I am able to quickly and easily distribute all the information the agents need that is time sensitive and important without having a weekly meeting. The added benefit of this is I am able to give the agents information in small segments that they are more easy to read and remember vs. a whole batch of information all at once at a staff meeting. I do schedule on 2 hour staff meeting once a month and it is mandatory. If you are going to have a meeting every week but everyone doesn't have to come that isn't fair and it isn't realistic to get everyoen together every week. As the meeting day approaches if I have not put together a worthwhile and meaningful meeting or if getting togehter is not warranted I will cancel it.

I like the idea of a monthly detailed meeting. We meet weekly and have good participation from the agents but I notice I'm delivering more information to them throughout the week via text messaging, emails and our intranet. I've considered 1 monthly meeting and may give that a try. Thanks for putting your info out there.
